Challenge WI 2 - 100.6 kg

Thankfully I got the scale moving on the weekend so I saw a small change. I was hoping to start the challenge with a big loss, but I'll take what I can.

It turns out the lack of movement was either too much sodium or not enough drinking. I'm actually leaning towards the latter as I didn't drink very much after my WI yesterday (I take my Tuesday morning reading as the 'official' one) and sadly my scale reflected that this morning. It's good in a way though because it means I have a reason, so I can stop beating myself up and take steps to prevent it.

Something went wrong with my washer yesterday, and my clothes came out with huge brown splodges all over them. Splodges being the technical term. Quite a few of tops were ruined, leaving me to swear and cry hysterically in alternating parts. You see, I'm screwed. I don't fit into anything in this country so I can't replace them. I've ordered some things online but they're going to take a few weeks to get here so until then I'm stuck in the my one remaining work top.

People are going to think I never wash.

Okay Zan, pull yourself together. I want to break 100kg so bad right now, I'm going to put my less than stellar day of eating behind me and really work for it.

Last thing, I'm challenging you all to give me nice things to eat! Write down your favourite recipe, than tag 3-5 (I know, some peoples links list aren't as long) people on your links list to do the same! Here's mine:

1 onion, chopped
2 cloves of crushed garlic
1 large carrot, in strips or chopped
1 large red pepper, chopped

Saute 5-6 mins.

Add Seasoning:

1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper, to taste
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

Saute 2-3 mins.

1-1 1/2 cup vegetable stock
1 can chopped tomatoes

Simmer 10-15mins.

1 can red kidney beans
1 medium chopped zucchini

Simmer 10-15 mins.

Really good with crusty bread or brown rice, or anything really. The spices make it go from kind of blah-but-ok veg to 'holy crap! I made this?!?'. It's also really easy to customise any way you like.

Longest post in the world. Sorry.

LOL, I will have to look up kilograms, I didn't do so well in math. When we have people participating from England I have to translate from stones to pounds, but I am so glad that you are doing well! Your recipe sounds wonderful and so healthy. I think that this next week should be really good for you. I plan to try that recipe very soon. Take care!

have you tried taking the tops to a professionl cleaner, maybe one or two could be saved?

I'm with jan b, the kilograms threw me off! What a great idea for recipes!

hehe, I'm from england. FYI: it's 2.2lbs to the kilo, and 14 pounds to the stone. I have the losses in lbs on the sidebar if that helps.

I hate working in kilo so very very much, but my scale gives me no other option. Stupid metric system.

I was thankful to find the conversion in the sidebar, I am not so good with the metric system.
Great job this week!

That recipe sounds delicious.

My husband is a vegetarian...he'll love your recipe!

My recipe for you: I love chips and salsa...a lot! I know the chips are bad news so I make my own at home. I buy small corn tortillas(with the lowest number of calorie I can find).

Cut 3-5 of them into wedges, depending on how hungry I am. ;)

Spray a little olive oil on a baking sheet, sprinkle wedges with seasoning salt and chili powder.

Bake till they're brown and crunchy. Sometimes they do get crunchier a minute or two after they come out of the oven.

OK, so they don't taste like the ones at my favorite Mexican restaurant, but they are a good substitute!

Good luck in the challenge this week!

Sorry about the washing machine disaster. I always check Fang Jr.'s pants pockets since I washed his shorts with a marker in them.

If you didn't dry the shirts already (the heat sets the stain), you might be able to soak them in stain remover with some success?

I will post an easy recipe for you this evening when I post.

Glad the scale moved downward for you.

Okay, can you dye the ruined tops a DARKER brown or black or navy so that you can wear them? Dying can be done fast, and then you can wear the dark-dyed stuff until your new goodies arrive.

Is that feasible?

hmmm, I don't know. I was thinking of bleaching them, but it all involves kanji knowledge that I don't have to read the instructions. Also, I don't trust myself not to dye both my myself and my apartment various shades of whichever colour I eventually picked...

Thanks for commenting on my WI this week. Don't get discouraged by a bad week because next week can be better. At least you now have a reason for the bad week. Your recipe sounds tasty and perfect for the cooler weather. I am going to enter it in my Weight Watchers recipe tracker because I am looking for recipes less than 5 points for my FIVE POINT FRIDAY so I will let you know if I use it. Thanks for sharing!

I feel your pain about clothes shopping. I'm in a similar situation - being a similar size in SEAsia. When I first got here a year ago, I used to go into shops. A few weeks of being giggled at by staff stopped that. Now if necassary, I ask as soon as I walk in, "do you have anything that will fit me" It's usually accompanied by a giggle and a "No ma'am"
Thank god tailoring here is cheap. I dream of the day I can buy off the peg though.
One of the things I miss about the UK was being able to buy clothes from the high street.

Winning at online casinos is possible for anybody who is willing to put the time in. Unfortunately, a lot of people are looking for a get rich quick scheme, so they start to place bets without doing the proper amount of research. When you know what is going on at a internet casino you immediately increase your chance of success. And if you can couple this with a bit of strategy and know how, you will be well on your way to winning money. Just remember, the more you know the more you will win.
casino casino If you want to have the fun of a casino without leaving home, online casinos can be just as exciting and as hopefully profitable as brick and mortar casinos. Whether your new to internet gambling, just need a refresher, or are looking to maximize your profits, our short guide can help you get started!
casino casino Betting is still very much present, even when playing online casinos. You will be required to place your money on an account, and this will be transferred to the winner via PayPal or Neteller. So before handing in cash, check out the website, first! If they have more members and a good reputation, you can almost be assured that you get your moneys worth. Make sure that before downloading any of software an online casino is offering, there has to be test run of the product first. You have to be able to play for free before you download the software, since this may help in protecting you from fraud in the end. An example of this software is the Cryptologic, is safe and can be trusted, since it is listed in the Nasdaq. online casino casino casino affiliate program As with all gambling bingo is totally addictive and you should be careful of its grip on you! bingo bingo bingo bingo Bingo is usually played in special halls where many players can play at the same time. The actual fun is the tension building up seeing other players closer and closer to the finish line. However, with the advent of the Internet, BINGO has gone online as well. There are many ways to play on the net, though the basics remain the same. You will have to complete a given pattern before anyone else in order to win. Over the net, you need not shout the computer will flash it out for you. Some online games also have chat attached to the games where you can speak with other players online and have fun right from your home, office or any other place where you can get on the net. Chatting is a great way to meet new people and pick up the tips and tricks. buy phentermine buy phentermine
